Nanoemulsified Tincture Blog

Are Your Tinctures Nanoemulsified?

The short answer is: No.  While our CBD oil is not nano-crafted, we utilize organic MCT oil as a carrier to naturally enhance the bioavailability of CBD. This decision is rooted in the understanding that CBD is inherently fat-soluble, meaning it dissolves better in fats or oils than in water. This property makes fat-soluble tinctures, like ours, more effective for delivering CBD into the body. When CBD is consumed in a fat-soluble form, it’s more efficiently absorbed through the intestines and into the bloodstream, leading to better efficacy of the product.

On the other hand, water-soluble CBD extracts, often marketed for their supposed superior absorption, may not offer the benefits they claim. The process of making CBD water-soluble often involves breaking down the natural CBD molecules into smaller particles, a process known as nanoemulsion. While this can indeed increase the surface area of CBD, allowing for potentially faster absorption rates, it doesn’t necessarily translate to better overall efficacy. The body’s endocannabinoid system interacts with CBD most effectively when it’s in its natural, fat-soluble state. Moreover, the production of water-soluble CBD can introduce additional processing steps and additives, potentially diluting the natural effectiveness of the CBD.

Therefore, by choosing to use MCT oil—a saturated fat—as a carrier for our CBD, we’re leveraging the natural fat solubility of CBD to ensure maximum absorption and effectiveness. This method preserves the integrity of the CBD and aligns with our commitment to providing a pure, potent product. Our approach ensures that you’re getting a product that is not only safe but also optimized for the best possible therapeutic outcomes, without the unnecessary costs and potential downsides associated with water-soluble CBD products.
