What is CBD and CBG isolate?
CBD and CBG in its purest form – over 99% crystalline powder that is odorless and tasteless.
What is Crude?
Crude is the byproduct of the first stage of hemp processing in which the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds are extracted from hemp using a solvent, such as ethanol. By separating the cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant material, the ethanol extraction process creates a “CBD concentrate”. Sunny Skies CBD does not use crude, neither unrefined or refined, in any of its products. We elect to further purify our extracts through the distillation process.
What is CBD distillate?
CBD distillate is the result of crude being further purified into distillate through the process of thermal separation. Thermal separation utilizes an input of heat to facilitate the process of separating constituents from a mixture. In the case of CBD distillation, heat is being applied to crude to remove residual liquids, lipids, sterols, chlorophyll, fatty acids, salts, sugars, and heavy waxes. These compounds must be removed for optimal purity, safety, color, value, and taste and are necessary for further processing to produce CBD isolate.

What is thermal seperation?
With the application heat, ethanol, water, and terpenes evaporate from the crude. Additionally, unwanted consitutents and allows the separation of unwanted constituents such as lipids, sterols, chlorophyll, fatty acids, salts, sugars, and heavy waxes. These compounds must be removed for optimal purity, safety, color, value, and taste and are necessary for further processing to produce CBD isolate.
