CBD Tinctures

What is a CBD tincture?

Commonly referred to as “CBD Oil”, a CBD tincture is CBD in liquid form. CBD extracts (isolate or distillate) are infused into medium-chain triglycerides (MCT oil) from coconuts, which serves as a carrier oil. Tinctures are ingested orally. Fill the syringe on your dropper to 1ml and squirt under your tongue. Hold under your tongue for 60-90 seconds before swallowing. You can see our Tincture Dosing video here.

What is a Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture? Broad-Spectrum? Isolate?

Full-Spectrum CBD Tinctures are formulated with distillate that maintains the complete cannabinoid profile of the hemp used in processing. Sunny Skies CBD Distillate is very high in CBD and has trace amounts of other cannabinoids, like CBG, CBC, and CBDV, as well as legal amounts of THC (less than 0.3%).

Broad-Spectrum CBD Tinctures are formulated with distillate that has had the THC remediated. This is a great option for those who want the benefits of the minor cannabinoids without consuming the trace amount of THC.

CBD Isolate Tinctures are formulated with CBD isolate, which is CBD processed into its purest form. It is a crystalline powder that is 99.9% CBD. It is odorless and tasteless, so it is the best option for those that do not like the mild plant-like flavor of a CBD tinctures made with distillate. Like Broad-Spectrum CBD Tinctures, CBD Isolate Tinctures are 0.00% THC.

Why tinctures?

Tinctures are the most common delivery method to take CBD and the one we recommend for daily use.

Tinctures have higher bioavailability than products like gummies, drinks, softgels, and capsules. CBD that you simply eat or swallow must be digested. Your liver must process the CBD before CBD is circulated in your bloodstream. CBD is absorbed into your bloodstream more quickly under the tongue.

How does dosing work?

Sunny Skies CBD offers three strengths: 750mg per bottle, 1500mg per bottle, and 3000mg per 1 oz. bottle (the 6000mg bottle is 2 oz., meaning 3000mg per oz.). There are thirty 1ml servings per 1 oz. bottle (1oz/30ml) and sixty servings per 2 oz. bottle, so there are 15mg per serving in the 750mg tincture, 50mg per serving in the 1500mg tincture, and 100mg per serving in the 3000mg and 6000mg tinctures.

How often do take it?

CBD is non-toxic. You cannot overdose. Use as needed. However, most of our customers report taking one serving in the morning and one serving at night.

How long will a bottle last me?

There are 30 servings per 1 oz. bottle (750mg, 1500mg, and 3000mg) and 60 servings per 2 oz. bottle (6000mg). If you are taking one dose per day, a  1 oz. bottle will last 30 days, and 60 days for a 2 oz. bottle. We have found that most of our customers are purchasing the 1500mg and 3000mg tinctures due to their relatively lower price (less than $0.07 per milligram).

What does it taste like?

Isolate Tinctures are made with CBD isolate, which is tasteless. Thus, the Unflavored variation tastes like MCT oil, while the vanilla and peppermint flavors taste like coconut pie with a hint of vanilla or peppermint. The Full-Spectrum and Broad-Spectrum CBD Tinctures, on the other hand, are made with CBD distillate, which has a mild plant-like taste that is present in the 3000mg tincture, mild with the 1500mg tincture, and even milder with the 750mg tincture. The vanilla and peppermint flavors are a nice compliment to the earthy, coconut oil taste.

What do you use for your Vanilla and Peppermint flavors?

We use Unsweetened Vanilla Flavor Concentrate and Unsweetened Peppermint Flavor Concentrate for our Vanilla and Peppermint flavored CBD tinctures.

How big are the bottles?

30ml (1 fluid ounce) for the 750mg, 1500mg and 3000mg options. 60ml (2 fluid ounces) for the 6000mg tinctures.

Is it possible to take too much?

There are no reported incidences of overdoses. However, there are reports of extremely high doses causing drowsiness.

How to use our oil?

Directions: Fill dropper to 1ml mark on dropper and squirt under tongue. Hold under tongue for 60-90 seconds before swallowing.

Why hold it under your tongue?

You have a network of endocannabinoid receptors under your tongue, so this is an efficient method for getting CBD into your system.

Which carrier oil do you use?

MCT oil from coconut. We use MCT oil because it is arguably the healthiest option and because it has the widest approval rating for taste among customers. Based on our experience, although the majority of people really like olive oil, those who don’t are strongly opposed to consuming it every day. Some companies use hemp seed oil, but it performed the worst in our taste tests.

What does the tincture fluid look like?

Our tincture fluid is extremely clean and looks nearly clear in lower milligram doses, with a slight yellow tint on higher, full-spectrum doses. This is due to the fact we use hemp with a high CBD content, so there is less plant material in the liquid. You can watch a full-spectrum CBD tincture clarity comparison video here.

Will it get me high?

CBD is non-psychotropic and should not get you high. Full-Spectrum CBD Tinctures contain less than 0.3% THC, and also should not get you high. CBD Isolate Tinctures and Broad-Spectrum CBD Tinctures are 0.00% THC.

Will it cause me to fail a drug test?

Full-Spectrum Tinctures are unlikely to cause you to feel high, but may cause you to fail a drug test. If you are subjected to drug testing, we recommend a CBD Isolate or Broad-Spectrum CBD Tincture, both of which are 0.00% THC.
