All Sunny Skies CBD products are made in our lab, located at 100 W. Main Street in Durand, Wisconsin. Our lab is a cGMP-compliant licensed Food Processing Plant, which means we follow strict protocols and are regularly inspected for facility maintenance, sanitation, recordkeeping, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc.
In addition to product manufacturing, the lab is also a processing plant where we use the hemp that we grow to make the extracts used in product formulation. As part of our mission to be radically transparent, we offer lab tours at any time to anybody. Here is a lab tour video for those who are unable to visit us in person:
Manufacturing Floor:
All products are made on the manufacturing floor of our lab. When you come for a visit, you will see a spotless facility, dedication to organization and SOPs, employees using hair nets and gloves, stainless steel surfaces, and clean working stations. The walls are coated with epoxy and the ceiling has vinyl sheetrock. You will also see top-of-the-line homogenizers for mixing products.
Processing Plant:
We used a supercooled ethanol extraction process to make crude, wiped film molecular still distillation to make distillate, and reverse-phase flash chromatography to make THC-free extracts. For more information, please see the links below:

Lab Testing:
In addition to offering lab testing services, we use a Shimadzu LC-2030C Plus to test random samples from each batch of products we make. When we make a batch of extracts, we test the potency in-house before sending a sample to a 3rd-party lab for testing. Additionally, when we make a batch of finished products, we take a random sample from that batch and test it in-house before sending out a sample for 3rd-party testing. Having top-of-the-line lab testing equipment in our lab has allowed us to make continuous improvements on our SOPs for product formulation and has prevented delays and inventory issues by reducing (or nearly eliminating) the need to reformulate batches.
Shipping Station:
All orders are shipped from our lab. We carry six weeks of 3rd-party lab-tested inventory on hand at all times. This prevents products from going out of stock and allows us to ship orders in a timely manner. We ship orders with UPS and USPS and email tracking numbers to customers the night of the day that an order is shipped. We ship all orders within two business days of receiving payment for an order (retail or wholesale).
Office:
In the back office, Ben Rippley and Jack Rippley work on sales, Hunter Adler runs the product testing and processing side of the business, and Terri Adler handles legal, billing & accounting, customer service, inventory planning, and control, and manages the production of finished products. The rest of the team is working on the production floor, in the processing plant, out on the field, in our greenhouse or warehouse, or at the front desk where our retail store is located.
