What is Broad-Spectrum CBD Distillate?
This concentrate is 80-95% CBD depending on the batch. Unlike isolate, distillate contains trace amounts of minor cannabinoids and terpenes.
What are minor cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are compounds that act on the body’s endocannabinoid system that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Each cannabinoid interacts with the endocannabinoid differently and has different benefits. The most notable cannabinoids are CBD and THC, but there are at least 113 known cannabinoids. The other 111+ cannabinoids are commonly referred to as “minor cannabinoids”.
What does “Broad-Spectrum” mean?
Broad-Spectrum Distillate is distillate that has undergone the process of THC remediation. When CBD extraction and distillation takes place, the cannabinoid profile of distillate mirrors the cannabinoid profile of the hemp biomass used to produce the extract. When all the original cannabinoids present in the biomass (including trace but legal amounts of THC) are present in distillate, it is referred to as full-spectrum distillate. When THC is isolated and removed (or remediated), you are left with a THC-free distillate called “Broad-Spectrum Distillate”.
How do I use it?
Smoke in a dab/oil rig or use heat to infuse the distillate into a carrier oil to formulate do-it-yourself CBD products at home.
