As CBD has become increasingly popular and sold more widely throughout the United States, more and more states have been passing legislation that require CBD products to meet certain labeling and testing requirements. The reason for doing so is to ensure that the CBD products that are being sold are trustworthy, effective, safe, and consistent. In order to ensure that CBD products are in compliance with these new regulations, here are some of the labeling and testing requirements that CBD products need to abide by in order to be sold legally. CBD Labeling Laws
CBD Labeling Requirements: CBD Labeling Laws
1) Product Identity – a brief statement of what your product is.
2) Net Quantity of Contents – an accurate statement of the quantity of the contents (excluding the packaging and containers the products come in) in weight for solids or volume for liquids.
3) Name & Address of Manufacturer – the name, address, and contact information of the manufacturer or distributor should be included on the label so that customers can contact them if necessary.
4) Name & Address of Third-Party Lab – the name and address of the third-party lab that tested the CBD product.
5) List of Ingredients – a complete and accurate list of ingredients included in the product.
6) Recommended Dosage & Instructions – the amount of CBD included in each dose and recommended doses along with instructions on how the product should be used must be included on the label.
7) Nutrition Facts – nutrition or supplement facts about the product must also be included.
8) Statement That CBD Is Not FDA-Approved – a statement that the product has not been approved by the FDA.
Why Compliance With the New Labeling & Testing Requirements Is Important: CBD Labeling Laws
Since CBD products in the U.S. have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA, there are no federal guidelines when it comes to labeling, testing, and regulating CBD products, meaning that the laws and requirements concerning the manufacturing and sale of CBD products are on a state-by-state basis. However, an increasing number of states have been creating their own laws and guidelines concerning CBD products, and CBD products that fail to meet these testing and labeling requirements will be considered to be misbranded drugs and may be prohibited from being sold as a result.
That’s why, at Sunny Skies CBD, we make sure that all of our products are in compliance with the latest labeling and testing requirements, so that our customers can be assured of the quality and safety of our products.
